Going Public

This week sees the first in a series of events to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Edge Hill Poetry and Poetics Research Group.
The series of open events, which are all free, will be in the Education Block at the university. Time: 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

8th October, Scott Thurston - discusses his book 'Internal Rhyme', due next year from Shearsman

15th October, Cliff Yates - discusses his poetics; Andrew Taylor discusses 'A Poetic of Absence Part II' and the continuance and reflection upon 'A Poetics of Absence' which appears in the Salt Anthology, Troubles Swapped for Something Fresh. Scott Thurston, Robert Sheppard, Cliff Yates and Andrew Taylor all appear in this exciting and essential anthology.

29th October, Dee McMahon - 'Stories of the Line - Provocation, Process and Product'; Robert Sheppard - 'Fictional Poems and Fictional Poetics: the double oeuvre of Rene Van Valckenborch'

5th November, Michael Egan; TBA; Daniele Pantano - 'Living in Translation: A Discussion of Exile, Translingualism, and writing your way home'


11th November, Reading at the Rose Theatre, Edge Hill University, 7.30 p.m. £3.50 all tickets
Cliff Yates will be launching his new Salt collection 'Frank Freeman's Dancing School'
